We are hiring a Senior Accountant!


Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent practical experience.
  • CPA, CA or other professional accounting accreditation.
  • Experience as an accountant, assignment manager, or working in an accounting or audit firm
  • Management experience in accounting in multiple countries an asset
  • Experience in team management
  • Proficiency in Odoo accounting software preferable (proficiency in Google Drive, Excel, Word, etc.)

Key Responsabilities

  • Allocate various accounting items to the appropriate accounts;
  • Validate  accounting entries and ensure the accuracy of accounts
  • Prepare income statements and balance sheets
  • Analysis and revision of periodic accounts
  • Ensure timely tax and social security declarations
  • Create periodic reports from the company’s account balance, according to needs;
  • Prepare financial statements according to the SYSCOHADA model and consolidate accounts across the company’s different entities
  • Translate SYSCOHADA financial statements to conform with GAAP/IFRS principles
  • Implement  strategic initiatives  for the accounting team in collaboration with the Head of Finance
  • Perform periodic cash flow analysis for business entities: reconcile bank statements from all entities across the West African region
  • Coordinate the company's accounting operations across multiple countries

IT Project Manager (Mid-level: Senegal)

We are hiring an IT Project Manager!

Key Responsabilities:

  • Support the development, the roll out and the test of tech platforms and tools
  • Be the contact person between the company and our IT developers
  • Assist the technology department with the planning, management and  analysis of all IT related activities
  • Support the design of new processes and tools that simplify management and improve the efficiency of our network of agents
  • Train and build capacity in the local team to ensure continuity of the improved and/or new processes

Skills and Experience:

  • Management of IT projects with the Agile method
  • Knowledge of IT programming and Data management and analytics
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage a small team of IT developers
  • French and Wolof proficiency is required, English and other local languages would be considered an asset
  • Ability to take initiative and learn quickly
  • Curiosity toward the use of technology in a rural setting
  • Creative and versatile approach to problem-solving (solution-oriented)
  • Proven, strong communication skills and ability to work cross-culturally
  • Persistence, sense of humor and an open mind!

Sales and Marketing Manager (English Speaking West Africa: Country TBD)

We are hiring for further expansion in West Africa!

Key Responsibilities

  • Will work with the Business Developer to launch the pilot project in a new market, conduct all m&e activities, determine regional and sub-regional pricing models; build the team to scale, and ensure results oriented reporting to the board;
  • Will support the Executive team with sales strategy formulation for a new market opportunities (state, local and community) including pricing, product and go-to-market strategy;
  • Will manage a large team of sales staff, assign and boost sales objectives and lead all training programs;
  • Will collect, monitor and evaluate data in the field in order to hit monthly sales targets, improve sales, anticipate customer needs and expectations and better marketing processes;
  • Design and lead communication strategies;
  • Work closely with technical personnel to determine new project modalities and optimal project implementation solutions;
  • Manage a large sales team and put in place strategies to ensure success in a new market;
  • Perform other duties as required and requested within the framework of his/her responsibilities or as assigned by the Executive Team;
  • We’re looking for someone with at least 3 years of experience in a leading roles in sales, business development, marketing or other relevant area.    
  • We’re looking for someone with at least 2 years of experience in building and managing large teams

Skills and Experience:

  • Applicants must have previous experience working in a sales and marketing role where they helped scale a startup;
  • The applicant must speak fluent English and be highly motivated by our social mission;
  • Previous experience in rural regions in West Africa is required;
  • Previous experience in building and managing a sales team;
  • Previous experience as a lead sales manager for a leading distribution company in West Africa is an asset;
  • Previous experience in recruiting, training, finding talent, and HR is an asset;

Junior Grant Manager

We are looking for a person to manage our current grants, write proposals, apply for awards and represent Oolu at stakeholder engagement events.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Excellent written skills and demonstrated ability to write clearly, persuasively and accurately in French and English
  • 2 years minimum of grant writing experience and/or grant reporting
  • Demonstrated experience writing successful grants
  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent ability to work autonomously to guide their own work and liaise between Oolu team and grantors
  • Excellent capacity to take initiative to work with the rest of the team to gather information and synthesize for submission
  • Ability to prepare presentations for stakeholder engagement activities
  • Ability to attend events as a representative for Oolu and engage with potential grantors from handshake to close
  • Prior experience reporting for DFID and/or USAID grants is an asset but not required
